Well, here we are in San Jose....actually right in La Uruca, within walking distance of the offices of La Inmigracion........spent the greater part of the day there, trying to inquire as to the status of our application for residency. Got there at 6:30 in the morning, and Blanca's name was finally called sometime close to noon.........all they had to say was it will take thirty days more, but meanwhile the comprobantes that we were given a year ago last March will serve to allow us to stay in the country, without playing the perpetual tourist thing every 90 days........we had taken the advice of a friend up in Arenal, and retained the services of a driver for this trip, so he took her over to get her drivers license while I continued to wait for my name to be called........finally, around 2-2:30, they called me to tell me the same thing.......when I asked how we can apply for La Caja, I was told all I had to do was go back up front to La Informacion, and ask for a Certificado de el Status Migratorio, and that can be presented to La Caja........What they didn't tell is that these certificates are only available at Window #2, and that window closes everyday at noon............so, then, after a short wait for Jaime, our driver, I was taken to the Drivers' License place.............another cluster____...............first, a very long walk, in a very big hurry to get there before they close @ 2:30, to see the doctor and have blood drawn.......15,000 colones for those services, then back over to the line for licenses, only to be told it was too late (it was just before three), and I have to go back tomorrow........so, tomorrow morning we will try to get the certificados and my license, before we head back up to Arenal, where we will continue our pursuit of the means to have our little house built......the adventure continues......we intend to return to La Uruca every 30 days until we actually get some results..........
